Always thought if all this were a handicap race, coming from Bootle puts us high in the weights, but class always shows through in the end.
Remiss of me not to point out on the 1949 Bootle Boys programme the presence of another Bootle great, Davey Rent, Bootle Grammar and Maple Leaf.
If your brother has any pics of your dad in the Everton JOC team please ask him to tweet them, then I can steal them for this thread.

Bryan Griffiths signed youth forms with Everton in May 1954.
He would have been eligible to play for Everton D in the JOC 1954/55 and 1955/56 seasons.
