25 Does anyone know who or what J B could have been? I found this old photo of a football team, the writing on the back says J B cup final team 1939-1940. The photo would have been taken somewhere in Litherland and I can only guess at Johnson Bros

Paul Cahill and Tony Cahill were great players remember them playing for there school teams, they were more like twins during their early football days both of them playing for St Wilffreds.

After looking at the photo posted by Sankey Dianne of the 1936 Lake Cup Final I thought I would post this team photo of the 1963 English Martyrs team that beat rivals Litherland Moss 1-0.
Top row from the left as you look at the photo: Peter Duffy ( lived in Anderson Rd), Arthur O’Brien ( lived off Bridge Rd), John Bracken ( lived in Moss Lane), Paul Clarke ( lived in St.Philips Ave Paul became mayor of Liverpool), Derek Draper ( lived in William Wall Rd), Jimmy Ryan ( lived in Harington Rd),
Front row, again from the left
Billy Kitwin( lived on the Ford Estate), Barry Lyonette ( not sure where Barry lived but his dad was headmaster at St Robert Bellarmine), John Doran (I lived Moss Lane), Paul Mitchell, ( lived in Bridge Croft) and Peter Lennon ( lived in Thirlmere Drive).

I doubt that any of the men here will still be with us, but perhaps family members will recognise them.
The photo was taken in 1958 and shows the Liverpool Co-op team..failed finalists for the English Baseball Cup.
My late brother Frank Hawkins is in the back row, 3 Rd from the left.....
