Just returned from a lovely afternoon "Farewell" Luncheon for one of our members who is going to Florida to be near her son. We will surely miss her as she is a longtime member of the TBPA!! ( Joan, the lady in Red flowered dress)

Lovely pic of the girls Patricia.
What do you do with Pumpkins?
As a food I’ve not come across a recipe which appeals and one of Janette’s friends always gives us some around this time.
I need a recipe to liven up a rather bland tasting vegetable, any ideas?
Cheers
Ken
Nice name for a bar Eddy, any royalties? K

Ken - I believe this dessert is 99.9% "What's for After's" on
Thanksgiving Day here and with a dollop of whipped cream
on it, believe me, it is delicious..............
https://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/ ... mpkin-pie/
Everything is "Pumpkin" at the moment, for example........
PUMPKIN SPICE MUFFINS
PUMPKIN BREAD
PUMPKIN PIE CHEESECAKE ICE CREAM. ...
INTERNATIONAL DELIGHT PUMPKIN PIE SPICE COFFEE CREAMER. ...
PUMPKIN SPICE ROLLS. ...
LIGHT & FIT PUMPKIN PIE GREEK YOGURT. ...
PUMPKIN PIE HUMMUS SHAKE. ...
HALO TOP PUMPKIN PIE ICE CREAM. ...
AUNTIE ANNE'S PUMPKIN SPICE PRETZEL NUGGETS.
As for what I do with the Pumpkins, mostly for decoration but I must admit
I do feel guilty as my Mother in Law used to clean, peel and cook them to
make her Pumpkin Pies. It is so messy though, too much trouble for me!!!!

Ken - That is one Big Crab!!! Have to agree with Harvey, I prefer Lobster too!
One of the most popular dishes I had in Miami was Mac & Cheese w/Lobster
it was delicious!!!! Lew of course being a "Mountain Boy" wouldn't touch any type
of crawling seafood and to be fair, my Dad wouldn't either, he used to say that they were
the "Scavengers of the ocean!"

Patricia, Just Reading your message about Lew and Dad reminded me of something that happens on the West Coast of Finland around this time, Lamprey Season, they are a fishy, eely thingy that lives in the streams. The Finns smoke them and consume them in one, head first with a glass of chilled Vodka.
My old boss said “Kenny don’t eat them , they eat the bodies of dead Mother in Laws”
I never did after that

Ken,like Patricia said "don't knock it 'till you've tried it" They are even serving it in the Grand Dining Room on board Oceania ships but only at lunch time evening meals have the whole steamed Maine Lobster. Peanut butter, jam and banana butties have been a staple food in N.America for years.I think our daughter Sarah lived on them while she was at Victoria University but they were dessert ...main meal Kraft Dinner(Mac and Cheese)

Ken - I thought they used the "Non-Gender "IT" now but whether
that will be popular I haven't a clue!!!
Something is in the air here, all day yesterday could hear Fort Eustis
practising with their guns from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. and there
were several "Stelth" jets flying around.

Just returned from Annapolis, Maryland, after celebrating
my Son-in-Law, Peter's Birthday at Ruth & Chris's Restaurant. It was
lovely, all the Family together, we almost closed down the
Restaurant (10:30 p.m) Talk about "Time flies when your
having FUN!!"
