I don't like Gomez at right back he is a big liability in that position as he can't read any of the play so just leave him with VVDInvicta wrote:Looks like we’re stuck with Lovren as Roma sign Smalling on loan.
Let’s see if Klopp uses him with VVD, Matip & Gomez preferred.
It would have handy to get him off the payroll and give the kids a chance.

Sorry to see youngsters Kent and Duncan move on but who can blame them wanting game time.
Two more off the payroll and £9 million in the bank with hardly any spending there must be a considerable fund available for the next window

Nice win, lovely goals including theirs.
If I was picky, two things about the goal;
As mentioned before TAA is dodgy defensively.
Adrian tried to stop that shot with his right hand , his left hand was higher, could he have tipped that over if he got a hand on it.
Not taking away from the lad, it was a brilliant goal.
“Flick ” Firmino is such a good player, I love watching him.

So the commentators and pundits reckoned it wasn't a pen - as video evidence also showed.
The ref gave the pen.
If both above are true, how come VAR decided the ref didn't make a clear error???
Long way to go before the nuances of this VAR thing sink in.
Much better than last year's showing in Naples but no final product. Long way to go yet - just a blip!

There was no cricket or golf so I watched the game.
As a neutral I thought the penalty was 'iffy' but am sure Red fans would have called it a definite if at the other end.
For what its worth I reckon Liverpool deserved at least a draw.

That Adrian has to be the best free signing. He made some outstanding saves last night.
I noticed again with the save from Mertens, he used his right arm when the left was more expected, a bit like that goal he conceded last Saturday.
Just an observation, I don’t care if he uses his head or his ar*e so long as he saves them

We’ve got this builder in at the mo doing a porch.
He is a mad Reds fan, travels to most away games including Europe and gets to Anfield about 12 times a year.
He has followed LFC since he was a boy, he’s 50dd now and can tell you every player from 80’s onward and every trophy and league position since then. He knows nothing of other teams and can’t even say the Manc word but start him on LFC and nothing gets done. His truck cab is festooned with flags and pennants, it’s like a shrine.
You would think he was an exiled Scouser until you hear his Mid Kent ( Darling Buds of May ) accent and he has no family connections to Liverpool. He just fancied them as a lad and never changed.
He’s a brilliant builder as well, I wish I’d found him years ago.

I see Karius is still up to his tricks...

Just to think he could have been standing in for Alisson at the moment!

Think we deserved the 3 points when looking at the whole game - that said, squeaky bum time towards the end when it looked like Chelski may nick a point.
TAA's free kick was a belter!

The result was very welcome, but Liverpool definitely need to practise passing to a red shirt.

Hard fought win today.
Just like the Chelski game last week, one we may have lost a few years back
Seven from seven - can't ask for any more than that!

Trouble is Bernie most times lately we are winning 'ugly'.
I may be in the minority, but I would rather watch the football that City play than that which Liverpool play, and I have been supporting the Reds for over 65 years.
I would be quite happy if we could just learn to pass to a red shirt on a consistent basis, instead of giving it to the opposition most of the time.

I think you need a referendum here. Good attractive football or good results.
Look what has happened to EFC. Big Sam got results but now we have nice football with no points.
Seven out of seven is a football fans dream....don't knock it.

In my opinion there's a difference between ugly football and poor football. Ugly football is playing an eleven man defence and relying on the break or playing for the draw. Poor football, which is what Liverpool played against Sheffield, is poor passing, missing sitters and sloppy play. I'm happy picking up three points when we don't play well but hope Jurgen will bollock the players and get them back to playing accurate and fast football again.

I watched City play Newcastle and were leading Newcastle after a minute and were playing brilliant football but still got beat by 2-1Bill fawcett wrote:Trouble is Bernie most times lately we are winning 'ugly'.

Henry, I know they very occasionally lose a game, but I would still rather watch their style of football than that played by Liverpool this season. It's all about personal choice, and if you would rather see the reds win every week playing boring football, with lots of sideways and backward passing that is your choice, but it is not something that I enjoy.
