Another couple of local companies that I had dealings with.
When I worked at Samuel Banner, we used to send refined linseed oil to Goodlass Wall in Speke.
I used to analyse rum for Lamb & Watt when they were based in the Aintree Industrial Estate. A tough job but someone had to do it.

Announcement of competition to design the Technical College, in 1897 .
The guineas quoted were the prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the competition.
Normal procedure was,the winning architect forfeited ownership of the plans to the council.
The council would then put the design out to tender for construction.
1904 Bootle Technical College.
The plans below by, John Douglas, were runner up in the Bootle Town Hall competition of 1880.
The winning design was by John Johnson.
