Was the John Jones you mentioned the one I played with for the great Winifred Sports in the fifties. Common name so it could be someone else. The late Red Ron mentioned him here a few years ago.
In the five a side picture the small guy in the front row is my cuz Ray Mears who went on to earn several International caps with New Zealand. He emigtated out there around 1961/2 and later posted here as Bootle Lad a number of times.
