Loved Hay On Wye.
Great little new modern 50 seater cinema at the end of lane.
Could hear the Town Clock chime the quarter hour.
Could nip out in my slippers for Bread Milk Newspapers and Wine.
The Sunday Times did an article of the Ten Best Towns in Britain to live
Only one listed ( in no particular order) in Wales was Hay on Wye
It showed a Photo of Lilliput Cottage ( Ours)
Had I not fell in love with where we are now, I would not have moved.
Been up Pendinas many times, can see it from our Kitchen window.
Regularly sit in the Garden watching with my binoculars people on the top there or looking out to sea at the boats and occasionally Dolphins.
Waiting on a hip replacement in the next few weeks hence my increased activity on this forum, can hardly walk at the moment.
Hard to believe I used to play squash twice a day and we walked the Coastline of Wales
Cardiff to Caernarfon before the Assembly opened the Official Path.

Just wish the Dockers, Carters and Asphalters Ancestors could see our place now.
Sadly our Parents passed away before we moved here.
Formerly the Home of Lord Ystwyth and lately Uli Roth Guitarist in German Rock band "The Scorpions"
(Wind of Change,) lived here with Jimi Hendrixs ex girlfriend.
Place built by Napoleonic War Hero with Wellington in Portugal and Spain
Fought all the Battles Sharpe did, personally captured two French Eagles and the Town of Salamanca

Dan, is that Kwik Save opposite the New Strand? Cant remember what it was called when I worked there for a very short time before going to work in Woolworths, I was about 16 then, so that would have been around 1962. Great photos again Dan!

Could have been Phil, wasn't there long enough to make an impression! I remember having to take the cling film off the prepacked apples, turn over or around the ones that were bruised or going bad so the customer couldn't see them then resealing them again! I was only there about a month! Left to go to Woolies up the road!!! Thanks for the pics Dan!

Dunnings Bridge / Church Road.

Switch Island 2015
Mid right Bootle Golf Course. Just to the right of the 6, Everton's old youth pitches on Park Lane, then Netherton Park school and the old English Electric site.
Mid left Dodge, and just above, Bridle Road /Farriers Way Estate.
