I've drew the short straw and I'm on duty today, my wife has made sure I don't miss out on Christmas dinner, she plated me one to bring on duty, I'm now stuffed! :D

It was a very quiet shift, the plate was completely cleared. Good job there were no shouts, my patrol partner would have had to roll me to the car! :D

Hey Bernie still no dghajsa's that's a luzzu. :D Eyes on the prow etc.
Used to date a Maltese girl and her dad was an octopus fisherman but in holiday/tourist season and when the RN where in port also
a dghajsa boatman. They look more like the gondolas in Venice just a little larger.
The Ballad of Sammy's Bar" mentions these boats in which the last line of every verse is "Call away the di-so". "A dgħajsa is a Maltese gondola used by sailors for cutting across the creeks instead of going round them. In Malta they are a legal means of sailors getting back on board ship if they miss the liberty boat. In Britain it is illegal for them to use anything than the official liberty boats to get back to ship. Each RN ship used to have a dghajsa assigned to it but that was a VERY long time ago
when had a full head of hair

Bernie I just loved any time I was in Malta.Great place, loved the people and the history
of the Island.I have tried to take Sheila there so many times but something always puts
a bl***y spanner in the works usually a few days before and after a 2019 cruise we have booked to South Africa
my,not our, cruising days will be over (I think) :(
Here you go Bernie about 30 seconds in a beautiful dghajsa
