Aw Henry, I went to the infants to but guess you are much younger than me so didn't see you there! As for the junior girls, I loved it but the seniors, oh dear! Best day of my younger life is when I left!! Not on Facebook Pam so cant see if there are photos of my schools.

Loretta, I seem to recall that Henry is around the same age as yourself. Do you remember me mistakenly wishing him happy 70th last December?........ He swiftly advised me that I was several months late with my greeting I'd guess he'd have been in the same school year as you.

Bee, I can hardly remember what I had for tea last night never mind last year! Henry must be 71 now? (or thereabouts) I am heading for 72 soon so maybe we were in different classes, although, if we were in the same class, I doubt if either of us remember each other! Think we may have changed a bit since then!

ps Happy Birthday if it is around now Henry!!!

The Netherton Park photo will be between Sept 1959 and July 1961. The school opened in September 1959 and the people in the photo went to Secondary School in September 1961.
Remember when going to buy your uniform for secondary school was such a big thing as you never had one until then! I think you bought it in Owen Owens but I might be wrong.
I remember being bought a non- regulation Navy Blazer with silver buttons for the Girls Grammar and hated it- it was made of synthetic material that most of the schools now use as it is so much cheaper. I stayed on to Sixth form and was given one by Linda Helm who was leaving. This one had a braid strip on the pocket- never forgot as I was so grateful!

Thanks for those memories, Joyce. I remember getting mine for the George's and had to have a cap with the school badge on. It was also on the breast pocket of the blazer. I remember having a thick woollen Blazer, while all the cool rich kids had cotton Baritheas. Even though we had uniforms, you still knew who's families had money. Mind you I made up for the blazer by having a pair of Como Brogues.
