Hi Phil,
We would need more info, does your wife happen to know her great grandmother's maiden name? Did her granddad have any brothers and sisters? If she has names that would be a great help.

Thanks Jan. Her great grandad was Thomas Alfred, he had another son, great uncle James Henry 27/12/1922 and a daughter, great aunt Doreen. They lived in Myrtle gardens in the 1930's my wife's dad was Thomas Edward Jones. DoB 20/12/1939 registered in Liverpool South 1940.

Hi Phil,
This could be your wife's granddad's birth registration
Name:
Thomas A Jones
Mother's Maiden Surname:
Ward
Date of Registration:
Jan-Feb-Mar 1920
Registration district:
West Derby
Inferred County:
Lancashire

She would have to get a copy of the birth cert to find out his parents names, it has mother's maiden name Ward, but there are a few marriages around that time with Jones to Ward. So I don't know who his parents could be.
This could be his death registration which would fit with the year and quarter.
Name:
Thomas Alfred Jones

BINGO!
I was right with the marriage.
I had another look at Toxteth cem records. all in the same grave. So your wife's granddad and g grandparents are in the same plot.

Just noticed Phil,
There is a Doreen Wolfson in the same plot, she would be great aunty Doreen. Married name Wolfson, same address as Mary Agnes (her mum).
How sad, she had a still born Child, she only married Kenneth 2 years earlier.

Hi Phil,
I am not too sure, but I think Mary could have possibly bought the plot, I have no idea who the other people were, probably not related.
Some of my family are in Toxteth cem, all in the same plot along with other people, but no relation.
