HI GUYS, Bernards family end up in Bootle so need your help please!
Bernard McDermott married Jane Clapham, kids Mary,John,Alice, william,Thomas and Bernard Jnr.
ive found Janes relations but im a bit stuck on Bernard, Im thinking i could have him in 1851 with mother Mary Dacey and Peter McDermott
1861 same family but father Peter has died! although in 1851 his name is Byran or Byron! his brothers all match up date of births date wise !
so i cant find marriage for Bernard and Jane, also date of birth for Bernard, going on census records it could be 1843 IRELAND!

I'm thinking maybe Jane married first before marrying Bernard...this would explain why kids have mothers maiden name as Clapham...soooo I looking for someone who married a Jane Clapham then check to see if that surname matches a marriage between Bernard McDermott and Jane whoever! This would explain why I and it looks like you guys canny find McDermott marriage to Clapham...

Hi Mark,

I have been having a look to see if anything comes up, nothing so far for a possible marriage.

I had a look at William McDermott's marriage, the address is Viliers Street.

I did find Bernard and Jane in 1871 census, but it is a misspelling of the surname Bernard is listed on ancestry as Bennett McDonnall, wife Jane, daughter Mary E son John and Jane's brother listed as Johann Clapham (Thomas Clapham).

Jan
Old genealogists never die......they just lose their census.

"I have been having a look to see if anything comes up, nothing so far for a possible marriage"

I know Jan,this must be the hardest tree I've done so far...can't even find a possible d.o.b for Bernard either,
Going on the various census it seems Ireland Mayo could be the place! Thanks again Jan

Looking at census Bernard and family seemed to live in around lime st and London road area of city centre
Also found this
Kempston Street has quite a history. It was once known as Finch Street and in 1868 it became Blandford Street. Blandford Street was notorious in Victorian Liverpool. No less than 235 'houses of ill fame' (brothels) could be found on the street. Their presence was openly tolerated by the police in Liverpool.
In 1889, the Liverpool Citizen carried a report on the 'traps for hell' on Blandford Street. One wealthly Liverpool businessman was enticed onto Blandford Street for a late night drink. The street was also known as a place to have a drink after the pubs had shut. The businessman stayed on the street for three months. There are other reports of men visiting there and never leaving.
In 1891, so bad was the streets reputation that its name was changed to Kempston Street.

Interesting Jane MCDermott death is at Finch Street!
