Does anyone remember any members of the Seddon family in Brookhill Rd around the twenties and thirties?

My father lived there and I am wanting to find out more about them.

Thanks.

Hi Jayne,

Welcome to the site.

What information are you looking for about the Seddon family? Do you have your dad's birth date or any other information you can give us please?

I looked in the 1938 directory and at 12 Brookhill Road Bootle was a Jn Seddon - Plumber

Thanks Jan - yes I think that may be my grandfather - I'm trying to do my family tree and having problems locating members of the family.

How do I locate the 1938 directory?

I wondered if anyone on here knew the family, there was John, Mary, Mabel and Winnie Seddon. Mother was Mary Alice and father was John James.

Hi Jayne,

I have the 1938 directory on cd.

Do you happen to know your grandmother's maiden name? do you have any documents like birth, marriage or death certificates for the family? Sorry for all the questions, but it will help if you have any of these, dates of birth marriages etc.

Jayne,

Was your grandmother's maiden name Hughes?

I found the births registers for the Seddon names you gave above, and all have mother's maiden name as Hughes.

I found this marriage in 1920 on the Lancashire BMD site

SEDDON John J HUGHES Mary West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended Liverpool REG_WD/372/62

William Richard Hughes head of family age 58 cotton Porter born Kidderminster
Margaret Hughes wife age 54 married 36 years born Liverpool
Mary Hughes daughter age 19 born Bootle

So now you have your great grandparents names and a great uncle.

I will have a look further and see what else comes up.

I remember a schoolmate of mine at Bootle Grammar around 1970 was called Robbie Seddon and I seem to recall he lived around Hawthorne Road.
