My Dad is on that poster
BOBBY MASON and his brothers TOMMY and GEORGE (RIP)
Dad is still going strong now 88years of age.
Bob along with friends Benny Crispin, Jack Thomas, Mick Long, John Henshaw, Harry Wildman, Frank Fitzpatrick, Gerry Crummy and John Martin to name a few. Raised the money and built Netherton ABC in Harrops Croft. Their first wooden building was destroyed in an arson attack. Undeterred they built the current building now called Sefton ABC. Dad held a trainers and managers licence. He managed Jimmy Bunclark Dave Taylor Tony Carroll amongst others. He gave his heart, soul to help local kids
When the club recently celebrated its 25years none of those surviving original founders were invited.

So glad Billy Ellaway was featured in that montage. He used to train at Litherland ABC which was in Beech Road,l think. He was very good to us young boxers just starting out . A gentleman
