Think you need to speak to Matt in Vancouver Island as I'm sure I've seen him post about his family named the same. If you post the name in the search bar his posts should come up. Good Luck.

Hi Cunny,my father's brother was Dr John Wethered who had a surgery on Marsh Lane and they
did have a cousin called Angus but his surname was Blyde. The Smiths were my grandmothers side of the family and her brothers
children's names were Sidney, Jack and the only one still alive Anne .Angus's mum was Lena Blyde(ne Smith) my
grandmothers youngest sister and lived in 68 Thornton Road and Angus
was in fact born there but just before he passed away he moved but we do not know where to.
Do not worry about PM's we are all open and above board on the forum.Ask any questions you want and I will
be glad to answer them if I can.

Hi Cunny,a little more information. We know Angus got married very late in life for the first time
he would have been in his 60's or 70's and the lady he married was using a wheelchair as was he
but he disappeared from view from the few remaining members of the family after that.

You know Jan you may have just solved one of the great mysteries of our family. My great grandfather
John Smith deserted his family when my gran was about 13 and left her to bring up the two youngest
Dorothy was adopted by the Currie sisters in the Isle of Arran and Jack joined the RN as a boy seaman
but I have never heard my gran talk about a brother named Angus but then it was forbidden to even say
the name of her father maybe Angus went with him.
Wish some of my family were still around.I have 3 first cousins but no contact and only one cousin of my
fathers still alive.
Hey Cunny we are related!!!

Trying to get my head round all this information.Sydney Alexander Smith is my great uncle and youngest brother of Angus Smith
My dad was named after him Sidney Alexander Wethered and my granddaughter is named after him Kalika Alexandra Smith.
Some things just do not make any sense to me.I was very close to my grandmother Annie,my uncle Syd and my aunt Lena(Helena)
they were my "safe place" when my mum and dad were fighting but never once did I hear the name Angus Smith come up yet 74 Thornton Road was where my gran
and granddad lived until a bomb dropped on it during the Bootle Blitz 3 doors away from my aunt Lena at 68.
Another weird thing is that my great uncle Arthur Wethered was a witness at Angus's marriage yet he was the one that split all our Wethered side of the family
because of his hatred of my gran.(The sister of Angus)He thought she was not good enough for his half brother Matthew.
Cunny when you spoke to my uncle Dr John Arthur Wethered and he told you he had a cousin Angus he was talking about Angus Blyde because Angus Smith
was his uncle. We just have too many Sydney's Johns, Annies and now Matthews and Angus's in the family
Anyway cunny great to meet you and welcome to our funny family

Hi matt my son Andrew(smigger7281) has emailed me to ask if you have an account on ancestry.co.uk. if so he will give you the name of a woman who has already done the Wetherhed tree and has filled in so many blanks for him, also is it okay for him to add your photos to our tree .At the moment the Ancestry site is offering a free one month trail so you would then be able to log on and see for yourself . is it right that Annie is Matthew Wetherheds wife (1890-1983) and the man is her brother, john bryce smith (1892-?) cunny
