Thanks Michael for the memories born in Lunt Road and went to Linacre School walked across the front roof of the old picture house when it was a bomb site just after the war. Can remember the chippy next to Broadway stores and the Johnson's playing fields. Worked for Johnsons during the summer holidays one year. Used to go for a bath just across from Johnsons just past St Andrews and take the accumulator to the battery shop just a bit further along which was used to charge the old wireless in the days of steam!!!. You mention Hornby Flats and i think that was the old Bryant & May matchworks. On the corner of Lily Road was a soda bar where you could get sasparilla and the like after coming out of the Colesium. The old bus sheds was the old tram sheds in my day and can remember/richmond sausages and the Lift Bridge. Thanks again for the memories.
