Bents bitter was one of the best pints in Liverpool back in the day, that's my opinion.
Cheers Joe.

Cheers Joe.
The Langton. Never knew the name of that pub. Just remember the bus stop in front of a coffee bar on the right of that picture, in the early 60s.
Eden Vale started out as a Bent's pub.
From the defunct brewery site. Apologies for any heartache and tears.
Bent's Brewery, 30 Johnson Street Liverpool.
Regards
Dan

I didn’t like Threlfalls or Higsons either but loved the old Walkers Bitter before Tetley bought them.
Cheers Ken

B-52s and a couple of B-2s (Call signs-Death 11 and Death 12) flew into RAF Fairford on Saturday.
First time they have been stationed together outside the US.
At last the EU negotiations are getting serious.
I'm on whichever side they're on. Principles v atomic weapons. Only one winner.

I love the last ad, give someone a lasting gift, a ton of coal. Who had a coal bunker that big.
All that's been going through my head since I saw the ad for Gerry B this morning is, Gerry B, mod for man. Did I dream that, or was it the sign on the front of his shop?

Didn't want to highlight that Phil.
Thought it might have been one of Ken's surprise presents for his wife.
It does put today's Christmas presents in perspective though. Very little money for fripperies in those days.
Found some photos of local JOC teams in 1929/30. The heads look too big for the bodies. A sign of lack of nutrition rather than poor nutrition.

Dan. I appreciated the cinema photos, especially the Commodore near Bankhall.
I saw 'She (who must be obeyed)', starring Ursula Andress, there as a 12 year old (1965).
The film made a lifelong impression on me. Must have been the music? Walshy.

Thanks Walshy
I was reading the Rider Haggard novels at that time- King Solomon;s Mines,She, any of the Allan Quatermain stories, not forgetting John Buchan's Prester John.
So happy to have got to work in Zambia ( the old Northern Rhodesia) for a couple of years in the mid 80s.
