Hi everyone my name is Rob, I have lived in liverpool for 20 yrs, my wife has lived in Bootle all her life in well lane gardens. We both love looking at old photos of Bootle and liverpool and what we are looking for is photos of well lane gardens just off well lane opposite the tannery.
We love seeing photos of Derby park with the lake and how amazing it looked back in the day. We show our children photos of then and now to give them perspective of Bootle history
Any hints or pointers or photos would be amazing thanks

Welcome to the forum Rob. There are loads of photos of Bootle from yesteryear, courtesy of Fat boy Joe, Bernie, Bob and many others too numerous to mention. You may also want to join the Bootle and Sefton Facebook group, tons of nostalgia on that site, just ask to be added.

This is amazing thank you. Chas Caffrey is my mum in law dad. She moved into well lane gardens when she was 6 months old!

Hi Rob, welcome. Will your wife remember Mary and Ronnie Crossley from Well Lane Gardens? (#14 right on the very end) they lived there for many years until about 1990 when they moved to Balliol House at the top of Fernhill Road. She had a sister that lived in Well Lane too.

I'll certainly ask her in the morning but if she doesn't know her mum will.

It was good to see familiar names from Well Lane and surrounding areas. In the late 60s, I lived in Little Brookhill Road and was a keen motorcycle mechanic. I recall going round to Charlie Caffrey's house to tune up his BSA C15 250 cc motorbike, which was running a bit rough. Happy days. Walshy.

Saw this photo while I was trying to find information about a couple of my mum's old friends. Saw my grandad's name at number 6 Well Lane Gardens, Joe Piert. He died in 1989 but my nan, Nelly Piert lived there until she died in 2008. I remember Mrs Caffrey, and my mum (Pat Piert)'s best friends when she was growing up were Pat Hanley (no.2) and Pat Finnegan (no.9). I lived with my nan for a while on and off, and remember the bus trips organised for days out.
Wonderful memories
