Daniel Gallacher's son attended the recent unveiling of the Roll of Honour at MFRS Heritage and Education Centre , his dad was killed when the ammunition ship Malakand caught fire and blew up in the May Blitz in 1941 .

An ex Bootle Fire Brigade F8 Dennis fire engine from the 1950's .

The Heritage staff drove it from Birmingham on the M6 where it comfortably reached 70 MPH , mind you it does have a Rolls Royce engine . :D
