I have recently been investigating my family tree, still only at the novice stage. However, the information provided by LadyD as regards to the Swiss Krahembuhl's matches my family history.

Due to the Swiss connection it is difficult to research further back than Margerite & Rosina, I believe they both went on to own a greengrocers on Stanley/Strand Road Bootle.

William 1904 (or William Archibald Krahembuhl Jan 22, 1904) is my GrandFather, one of his brother's included George.

As I say getting information on this part of my family is proving difficult, any extra info that could be passed on would be very much appreciated.

Hi Cobra
I could only find one person in Mormons familyseach site under "All Resources" which linked to IGI.
Samuel bn 6/9/1860 Trub, Bern Switz.
died 23/12/1915 doesn't say where.

It's a member submitted entry which are often incorrect.

Sorry not to have been of much help.

I was wondering if there was any more information on the Krahembuhl family?

I believe my Great Grandfather was Edward Krahembuhl (1872) and although I have found information on the marriage to Nellie Rogers and their children, I have no clue as to how long (or where) he lived.

Also it might be a shot in the dark - but - are there any pictures of Stanley Road/Strand Road around 1900, the time Marguerite Krahembuhl/Margaret Walford ran the Greengrocers?

Ron have you been able to contact Madge?

Likewise enjoyed the Blackledges horse drawn delivery vehicle. Can you imagine the reaction, an employer asking a young man to pull a hand cart today..The way fuel costs are escalating might be the way forward and a green initiative..

Thanks

Hi everyone,
I am researching my family I have come across Krahembuhl's in my family tree. William Archibald Krahembuhl 1904-1981 was the husband of one of my 1st cousin's twice removed, Zilliah Hanagan 1909-1988. I learnt through family members of the Krahembuhl's that William Krahembuhl changed their surname to campbell during the WWII

I remember Madge from Linacre School - early 40s. although, I did not know that was the spelling of her name.

Glad to know she is still around and well.
