Hi Dave, I lived in the Chapel House next door to the Carrara Works, 99, Balliol Road. I used to see the guys when I was leaving/coming home from work, I don't know the name John Basil Strain, sorry, but I do remember two names, John McKay and Joey Chapman, Joey lived on Stanley Road opposite the North Park, if you tried to find them maybe they can help you find John Basil Strain.
