Newbie

Postby bward01 » Thu Sep 27, 2018 2:08 pm

Hi,
My name is Brian. I am researching my family tree and have hit a brick wall.
My mother, Mary Magdalen Morgan, born in 1919, lived in Brazenose road until the early fifties, when she moved to Kirkby.
She married James Ward, who lived in New Hedley Street and later also moved to brazy with his family

My mothers birth cert states she was born in Christmas street, but the family lived in brazy.

The head of the family was William, wife Sarah nee Hamil or Hamill from co. Down. They had children Sarah, peter, who died aged 12, lizze (eliza or mary elizabeth?) And Ann or Annie.

Strange thing is William and a Sarah both got buried in Ford on 27/09/1923.
Any info about the family or deaths would be appreciated.

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the site.

I have had a look at Ford cem records on ancestry site, it was only William Morgan who was buried in Ford in 1923, where it has that a Sarah Morgan was also buried on the same date, its on that date Sarah Morgan paid for the price of the grave of £4 13 and 6 in old money. :D

Sarah Morgan carried on paying for the grave plot for many years. I can't find her burial in there, but a Mary Elizabeth Morgan was buried in the same plot AS 837 on 20th August 1956, age 61, her address was 107 Rice Lane, which was Walton Hospital.

Hope that helps.

good work Bob and Jan and hello and welcome Brian :D are you wishing to trace the Morgan/Hamill line back in time? due to the mistranscription of William Morgan ie Birthplace Ballynofoy Knoclone this should read Ballynafoy Annaclone County Down, there does appear to be several Morgans in that area about his birthdate.
