Hi, anyone remember me from St Leonards? I was Sheila Macdonald from Prior Street, off Little Grey Street, and i was friends with Brenda Hughes, Anne O Donnell. Had some good times there, went on a weekend trip to Llangollen, there must have been a budding electrician of the boys, they rigged up a hoover covered in a white sheet that went off when we turned the light on in our dormitory, they also made apple pie beds....Grrrr

Never a member of the youth club but I do remember St Leonard's. The 'temporary' church built after the war and the church hall attached. I was one of the first two boys in the choir along with Frank Garrity (who sadly died many years ago). I was in the Life Boys but the B.B. was far too much for me - vaulting and making human pyramids! You'll remember the Crossbeats who had to change their name from the Seekers because of some commercial newcomers. John Mockford was the vicar and he had a gang of curates - Bunting, Banner, Bazley and Anderson. Tom Cooper, who had a butcher's shop on Peel Road, was the choirmaster and organist. Days long gone.

Hi all, remember St Leonards church youth club very well, started going to church first, bible classes and prayer meetings with Mr & Mrs Orman (lovely couple) and then got confirmed with my best mate at the time, Lilian Briscoe (Gray St,) we are still in touch, we had a 'crush' on Roy Hughes (little Norton St) who was in the church choir. Then started the youth club, we played records, also table tennis, Alan Perry(Cowper St) Norman ? went away for a weekend I think!! to the Lake District, had some great times there. It must of been 1961 when I was 12yrs old, when I first started then left around 1963/64, left school at 15yrs, started my very first job ( hairdresers apprentice in Maghull) My name back then was Jennifer Peace ( brother Freddie, mum Millie, dad Fred) we lived at 38 Tennyson St, neighbours, Rimmer family and Garrigans

Hi, I'm sorry, I know your name, and lilian briscow, but can't put a face to it. I'm posting picture of my class at Gray St, think it's around 1960 but it contains a picture of both alan perry and Roy Hughes.
