Hi girls looking for some fresh eyes on this one, my way back rellie Amelia Bessingwhite was born in London 1820 and Married first to Mr Wilcockson and had children I have all that information. She has a second marriage in 1854 to James MUCKLEWAY (sic) son of Daniel and I find her in 1861 with the Wilcockson children and with new offspring to James name is transcribed as MCCELIVEE (sic) he was of Scots descent I would like some help in trying to establish his true name I have tried many variation such as MacCauley and so on. Thanks

This could be their son (Richard born 1857) baptism, the name is written as McSlee.
Lancashire, England, Baptisms, 1813-1906 about Richard McSlee Name: Richard McSlee
Baptism Date: 19 Apr 1857
Parish: Liverpool St Martin-in-the-Fields
Father's Name: James McSlee
Mother's name: Amelia McSlee
George's baptism, different spelling again!
Name: George Macilwee
Baptism Date: 4 Dec 1859
Parish: Liverpool St Martin-in-the-Fields
Father's Name: James Macilwee
Mother's name: Amelia Macilwee
George William on the actual image.
Hope that is of some help

Lily,
Another marriage 1911, I don't know if it is George re-marrying or maybe a son's marriage.

Thanks Lily,
I think there was a son to James and Amelia,
I think this is his marriage.
Name: Henry Macilwee
Birth Year: abt 1854
Age: 22
Marriage Date: 3 Oct 1876
Parish: Liverpool St Martin-in-the-Fields
Spouse's Name: Mary Morgan
Father's Name: James Macilwee
Spouse Father's Name: John Morgan
The names are a bit confusing Lily, but quite a few coming up, there is possibly a son of George and Annie James Ernest, I think he is coming up as James Ornest, but he sadly dies age 1.

When I lived in Huyton as a kid, there was a family of McIlwee's and their son was named George, he was born around late50's or early 60's and his dad was also George he worked on the docks with my dad. I wonder if any relation, quite an unusual name, not sure about the spelling.

Thanks guys the census records are showing only 1 macilwee and thats in 1911 and pretty sure that that one is mine. Amelia was my 4x Gt Grandaunt and I am trying to establish when she died and if possible from there where she was buried. Gloss I have only just found out that Amelia married again so all this is great stuff.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday Steve with all the different spellings of Mcilwee not so far from McKee and then the Morgan too but can't find a link YET
What's in a name
We go from Muckleway to McCelivee then to Mc Slee, Macilwee, My favourite Macleewee and finally Meilwee. And yes they are all the same family thanks guys I guess they didn't win the spelling bee at schoool

Do you happen to have any pictures of your dad's time on the docks? Would be amazing if they had a picture together!

I have only just seen your reply so sorry about the delayed response.
Yes thinking about it, what a silly question I asked. We are just so used to technology these days aren't we!

Philip was born in October 1963. We share the same birthday and same colour eyes which are really unqiue! He passed away in December 2006. My dad was very close to Philip so he was gutted.
I've been trying to trace back our family tree but cannot get very far with the surname Macilwee but from my DNA I have both irish and scottish in me so I think the eye colour could be linked to that !
