I am looking for information about a relation of mine, Tom O'shea. We know that in 1939 he lived at 53 Ivanhoe Street, Bootle, with his wife Esther (Essie). As a child in the 1950/60's my parents took me to a pub on a new housing estate in Liverpool somewhere, where i met Essie our Aunty. I cant remember the name of the pub or the district but know it was new and on a new housing estate. My sister and I are trying to trace our family tree and wondered if anyone could point us in the right direction. Perhaps there is a list of pub landords in the 50/60's we could look at, but not sure how I might find this information.
We know they lived in Ivanhoe Street Bottle in 1939.
Does anyone remember a Tom O'shea - a pub landlord !!!!
Thank you
Tom O'shea - publican

Hi lanesfeeney.
According to the 1939 register and the 1946 directory Thomas lived at 10 Ivanhoe Street and was listed as a warehouse assistant.
There were a lot of new estates being built in Liverpool at the time, so it could be a long shot finding info for Thomas.
Maybe someone with 1950's or 60's directories can help. It may require a trip to the records office to look up the old trades directories that are held on microfilm there.

Old genealogists never die......they just lose their census.
