Tina, The renaissance Fair is put on every year. I copied this info,.
Don't worry if you've never experienced the elaborate drama that is a Renaissance festival. Picking up on the basics is easy.
Understand, first, that the idea is to re-create the vibe of the European Renaissance period through costuming, music and period-friendly activities from jousting tournaments to parades. Note, however, that at many festivals — including this weekend's — the Renaissance is just the beginning.
In fact, the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival's participants will re-create a broad swath of real and imaginary history, bringing to life everything from a 6th century English militia company to an Elizabethan-era tavern, to Norsemen of 937 A.D. to the 1600s to, well, a whole bunch of pirates.
We live in the desert, but we do have pretty parks and lakes, these are not pictures I took but show some of our waterways.

Jean - Lovely photos - the desert was certainly turned into a most beautiful place -
I know I tell everyone you have to go at least ONCE to Las Vegas it is absolutely
"Out of this World!" and has to be seen to be believed. My cousin and his wife
have just returned from their annual 14th year and already booked for next
year - they just love it!1
Well, could see it eventually happening but sooner than I expected. The TBPA at
its last Convention which was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, last month, voted to disband
in 2018. TBPA has been in existence since 1947 almost 70 years. Declining membership
and the passing away of almost all the War Brides is the main reason, also nobody
wants to take on the task of an Officer because once elected nobody else will
come forward to replace you at the annual voting time.
It has been suggested that we keep our Branches and meet as friends once a
month and many of them are going to go with this, including our Branch. Florida
is going to start their own Club independently but cannot use the TBPA name
so have come up with "UK Transplants!"
The last convention will be held in Hertford, Connecticut, in 2018 which I'm
certainly planning on attending for the last Hurrah!!
If you are interested in looking at the history of the TBPA you can find it at:

Patricia, sad that your TBPA is ending, I know you have been a member for a long time. As we get older we begin to lose our friends. I have lost many through death or they have moved to be closer to family.. I am lucky to only live 3 miles from my sons house.
I copied the TBPA address and will read about it later.

Quite the truth, Jean, so many of my friends over the years have departed and
one misses them so much, as we certainly relied on each other a great deal.
I guess it is all part of life's rich pattern!!
Hope Robyn is doing all right as I certainly miss her news regarding
Line-dancing and it was so nice to see a post from Marie-777 the other day.
My eldest grandson, Trevor, has just posted a photo of his girlfriend, Alisha and
himself, and of course I was like "whip-it quick the cat snatcher!!": Alisha graduates
Christmas and already has a job waiting for her in D.C. (Accountant) whereas Trevor
is still job hunting. I guess it is whatever is in demand. They have been dating now
for two years but one never knows!!!

Boy, I'm in a "Chatty" mood today!! Remember some of my school reports
stating: "Inclined to be talkative!!" seems I haven't changed!!
Just saw this on Facebook, I never know where Janine is going to pop up..
Lt Kendrick is on a television program called "Investigation Discovery" which both she and I like to watch.
Cannot believe she met him in a Smithfield Restaurant with her friends, they were over there looking
at The Parade of Houses!!

Love the picture of your grandson and his girl. You are right about job search. Jordan was lucky to get her job in her field right away. Her roommate graduated in broadcasting and didn't find anything. She is a hostess in restaurant...sad after all the college costs etc.
Nice picture of your daughter.
Off to Marks house for cookout, might be the last chance to swim there.
Went to World mkt. they have the fruitcake and choc biscuits in stock. Only bought a few things.

Fruit Cake!
It was such a lovely day Sunday we decided to go for a few hours to the
Poquoson Seafood Festival - managed to pick up a couple of Christmas
gifts. Had some really good bands playing too. There was also a fellow
playing the Pan Flute - love the sound, so haunting!!

Margaret - I hate the rush at Christmas so if I see anything I think
might make a good "Chrissy Pressie!" I take advantage of it
all year through then I can just enjoy the Christmas Season
without the pressure!!
Talbot had rather a nasty accident at school and to cheer her
up, I sent a "Care" package with a couple of Bling T-Shirts and
her favorite Chocolate Buttons - this was in the mail yesterday -
talk about "Tugging at your Heartstrings!"

Lew and I went to Costco to-day as I knew it was about time for
them to have their jars of Quality Street in for Christmas and
once the Brits find out they are all gone in no time!! Bought
four jars one for each of the girls and one for moi!! Also able
to find my Christmas Cards that you can insert a photo in the
front and make it more personable. Bought the young
grandchildren a plush robe & two piece pajama set each and
finally could not resist getting a dozen Tom Smith crackers.
So glad we are in an automatic Christmas Club which paid
out October 15th.
I was pleased as Punch with my findings.........

Hi all, yes it's me. I have not deserted you all.
Just had a few health problems going on, and my heart wasn't into posting.
But I will try and catch up with all the pics and news.
Patricia, I am envious, still looking for Quality Street here, a friend said Woolworths have them.
So will check tomorrow.
Early morning walk to watch the sunrise.
Kathy.

Thanks Tina, just one more hurdle early next year.
I have been looking at all the pics, great everyone, how lovely it is we have shared our grandkids growing up.
I went to the end of year concert last week for Bek and Sammi.
They are in different age groups, but one dance they were in together side by side, I admit I cried, with pride.
I was thinking how Pop would have loved seeing them.
They don't allow camera's during the concert, they want you to buy the DVD.
This is daughter Sharon, Sammi, Bek, and me after the concert.

I know Bee.
I have said to you I will post again many times, and send emails again.
I am, I have started.
All Aussie members if you haven't seen, in Big W, I got Quality Street, 795g $10. Yummy I got two to start with.
And also I got a Liverpool football for $10.
I did have to sit down and have a cuppa after I had touched the ball.
Hope my son appreciates my plight,
Kathy.

I guess Canada is the cheapest place to buy good old Quality Street. I bought them of sale a couple of weeks ago in Walmart for $7 per tin. Mind you not sure what the rate of exchange is against the Australian dollar, I know the US $ is a killer for Canadians right now! I enjoy Quality Street but could eat an entire box of Cadbury Roses but they are not as readily available and sold mainly at Christmastime in specialty shops. My two children (33 & 36) expect a Selection Box each with there Christmas Presents and once again are only sold in specialty shops.

That is a good price Elaine, I checked exchange rate, roughly about the same as Aussie dollar.
For as long as I remember we had Quality Street at Christmas in Liverpool.
When we came to Aus, I could only find it in British shops and paid a lot more than $10.
Then a few years ago it appeared at Easter and Christmas in shops, so I am happy.
Cadbury Roses we are able to get all the time Elaine, but I do love my Quality Street.
Haven't noticed selection box's which I loved, but I still get all of mine the Advent Calendars.
