Poor squirrel Not doing to badly in my garden, they are loving my blackberries and the blackbirds like them too! The hazelnuts will soon go once they are fully ripe!
Hope the bear gets his lunch! not so lucky for the salmon though!
Phil, yes they are a pest to some as are other hunting birds and animals but as I am not too good at explaining what I mean and most likely make a muck up of it, Google this site, Red Kite, Innocent Victim or Secret Predator. Hopefully will give you better information.

The ever popular World Gravy Wrestling Championships will be making a splash this weekend as the charity event returns for its 11th serving.
More than 1,000 people regularly pour in to the Rose n Bowl in Stacksteads, Bacup Lancs. for the annual Bank Holiday Monday extravaganza, which this year sees the much-awaited return to the arena of barmaid Little Meg.

The Giant Short-Faced Bear
Arctodus simus
The Fastest Running Bear That Ever Lived
Also called the bulldog bear, the giant short-faced bear (Arctodus simus) was undoubtedly the fastest running bear that ever lived. Rangier and longer legged than any bear today, it was about five feet at the shoulders when walking and stood as tall as 12 feet on its hind legs. Unlike pigeon-toed modern bears, its toes pointed straight forward, enabling it to walk with a fast, purposeful gait. It probably could run over 40 miles per hour despite weighing over 1500 pounds.
Paddington on steroids.
