Hi everyone, hope you all keeping well, father in law has me up the wall again haha! He remembered years ago being able to get patterns of wooden xmas sleighs to make! Ive searched high and low and can't find any!
He wants to be able draw around the plans onto wood and then assemble the sleigh! Any idea's please? Not a huge thing either, just something he can put in loft after xmas! Thanks for your time

Daughter has one. Think it's roughly 36" x 18" if that's any use to you I'll get in touch with her.

It's a wooden sleigh Mark.
I'm guessing it's in the loft atm but will be brought down in the next couple of weeks

Thanks anyway Keith but hes really wants to make a sleigh from scratch and keeps saying "used to be able to buy patterns!" Cant find any at all! Mother in law said "its cause hes bloody dreaming it, that's why" 🤣🤣
Hes really good at woodwork and making things and thought it would be lovely to make his granddaughter one by hand ! I'll keep looking! Thanks again Keith !
Take care everyone

Mark,
I was thinking that it would be possible to get a roll of wallpaper lining paper, tape two lengths together, lay the sleigh on its side and using a pencil, draw around the sleigh to create a template. In fact ,I might have a go myself

Mark, my husband has always made wooden toys for the kids and has got some of his ideas from a magazine called Hobbies which is published by model making suppliers.
If Keith's very kind offer doesn't work out perhaps they could help. Telephone 01508 549330 or email enquiries@alwayshobbies.com

Mark, don't know if the plans and dimensions of this are any good. It's in the latest Costco offers mag. £280.00 not a chance.

Thanks Keith
Ive spoken with father in law and he asked me to draw the sleigh free hand on some mdf, so I'll try a few rough goes 1st! "We only really need the sides" he said as he can do everything else once sides are done! So thanks again everyone who has messaged! Really appreciate it!
Hopefully when it's done I'll get a photo for you all! Thanks again and stay safe.

You can pm me with your address. Or you could pick it up from me in Lydiate.
No problem if your sorted.
It's about 24" long x18"high x 13"wide

Thanks Lorretta. I've just cut out the template with a craft knife. Might just have a go making one myself 😁

Keith, your sleigh is just adorable. If I lived at home I would ask you to make me one. I can think of so many uses for it at Christmastime. I also have two little granddaughters who would get so much pleasure out of one. If you do decide to make one remember to post it for all to see.
