Hi gang,
Here is the update of donations received so far...
11 donations at this time, which is fantastic.
Thanks so much for helping me to pay the bills to keep our Bootle Forum online.
If you are thinking about making a donation, can you let me know your username on our Bootle forum when you send it through? I forgot to mention this earlier.
Thanks everyone for your support and just give me a shout if you need any help.
I'll unlock this thread on the 5th of December (after 4 weeks since it was initially posted), so it gracefully vanishes down the topics list.
Cheers everyone, and thank you for creating great posts here on our Bootle site.

I have to say Mack I am rather surprised at only 11 donations looking at how many members we have mentioned, obviously a lot will have dropped out. Anyway, would it be better to leave it until end December before unlocking it as more may look in when the Christmas messages are put on and it may jot their memory at bit? Thanks again Mack for all your work.

Yes Mack, I think Loretta's right about leaving it up here longer. I think we've started earlier this year so perhaps members are waiting until nearer to Christmas as in previous years.
Just a thought; there are many people who use the other boards but don't bother with "chat about".
The Bootle History, Photo Gallery and Looking for People boards are very popular with people getting lots of help from members like Bobhamo and Genie Jan (to name just 2).
Can I suggest you sticky the Contributions thread to the top of each of those boards too?

Well done Glenys and Sheila, I think "Bootle Buck" is the name used by Stuert/Stuart, the brother of the late, lovely Dorothy.
Only one name missing now.. or could that be Dorothy third from left. I take it Glenys and that other reprobate Sheelagh Tequila were hiding in the ladies swigging gin from their hip flasks

Hiya,
I received a contribution on Wednesday 15th of December from an account ending in 'Smith'.
I'm unsure who sent it though. Thank you for the contribution whoever you are.
It is gratefully appreciated and helps a lot towards our hosting and maintenance costs.
Cheers very much

Thanks again Bee for promoting the donations. We didn't get as much as last year, which is understandable under the current circumstances with COVID.
All the donations really do help and are greatly appreciated, so thank you very much to everyone who helped with the donations to keep our Bootle forum online for another year.
Much appreciated and thank you all for your great support everyone.
Wishing you all a FAB 2022.

Sorry Mack, I don't regard Covid an excuse for not supporting the forum!!! I think the forum gives us something to look forward to during these hard times. Just my opinion! anyway, again as always many thanks for what you do to keep us all in contact with each other, here's hoping the forum goes on for many more years!

Bob sent me a p.m. June 16 2021. Bootle JOC thread hits ; 570,454. Today it's 653,938.
That's 83,484 hits in just over 6 months, all be it on probably the most visited thread.
I haven't made a note of the LFC thread on the chat forum, but after each game it's roughly 200-300 hits.
There is a lot of interesting content on the forum and that is growing every day, and there's a lot of people who visit just to see what's been posted.
Just need to figure out a way to reach out to regular visitors who might like to contribute.
I think wikipaedia works on an assumption of 5% of visitors donating.

Thanks Lorretta
My very first post. BTW, I never found my old friend.
Hi all this is my first post.
I stumbled on this excellent site while i was looking for info on the old Lift Bridge in Litherland.
Reading some of the posts, bring the memories flooding back.
I'm also looking for any info about an old friend Dave Rankin, the younger brother of Everton keeper Andy Rankin.
Dave married Vivianne Hodgson (spelling) around 1973.
They divorced a few years later.
Dave was a good 6`2" and played a mean lead guitar.
Cheers Bonesy
