Sorry Lily, I didn't mean to jump in, I saw it mentioned on another thread and thought many may not see it, hope you and your family are keeping well throughout this awful virus.

Aaw, cheers everyone, and thank you for all the wonderful content you add to our Bootle Forum. It would not exist without you all.
If anyone would like to make a contribution towards the hosting, maintenance and running costs, just send me a PM for the details (they are the same as last year, btw).

Mack

Can’t believe 15 years have passed. Remember going to the first meet-up nd asking Jean Andrew where was Mack and when she pointed him out I was surprised to see such a young man running the site and bringing so much pleasure to us oldies.
Thanks Mack well done and transfer made.

Great pic Mack. I'll start the identity parade; Jan and Mack front and centre with Henry immediately behind. Far left is Sheila (Bray). To the right are Jean, Ron and I think Peter Woolley? Is there another Ron in the back 4? I'm sure Sheila will be able to add the rest of the names.

Just to let any new members know;
Mack runs this website at his own expense and steadfastly refuses to make it a paid membership site so... around Christmas time those of us who want to, send a bit of money his way to help pay the overheads.
As much or as little as you want or can afford. I doubt we send enough to meet the full running costs and I'm certain it wouldn't cover his labour costs if he charged for the many hours he puts in.
Bank transfer is easiest but cheques, postal orders or cash through his mum's letterbox are good too. Sorry, he can't take the Provy or Sturlas
I know he appreciates the gesture and think I speak for all by saying it's an opportunity to show our appreciation for all he does.

Whilst I don't post anymore, I still look in and enjoy some threads and will be contributing to Mack's running costs.
As in earlier years, if anyone abroad want to donate in Euros or US Dollars they can send me the Currency and I will see Mack gets the Sterling equivalent.
PM me for my address.
Regards to all.
Ken

Hiya Bee,
I've stickied it to the top as suggested
It's all gone a bit quiet on the donations front. Probably because it kept getting lost going down the page.
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far.
We've got about a 3rd of the way so far to cover the yearly hosting and maintenance costs, which is great, so thank you to everyone who has helped so far.
I do all the technical behind the scenes stuff voluntarily, so this just helps to pay the bills to keep the site online.
Cheers again gang.

Mack, is it worth going down the route of asking Sefton or Sefton Volunteers to see if there are any funds available.
There may also be a trust fund with available funds. In Lydiate we stumbled upon the Gore's Trust, which is solely for residents and organizations in the village, we applied for a grant and we get £1000 per year for Lydiate in Flower of which I'm a volunteer.
There may be something similar in Bootle.
Also what about sponsorship from a local company.
Sorry to poke my nose in
Keith

Hiya Keith,
Emma who is the new Heritage Development Officer at Sefton CVS contacted me a few weeks ago, and she said she will keep an eye out for any funding opportunities if and when they arrive, which is great.
Cheers,
Mack
