Objection your honour! That's an Uncle Joe's wrapper but the round maroon sweets are aniseed balls. Uncle Joes were a less regular shape and almost black in colour.
I sold both by by the quarter pound, unwrapped from big jars in Mrs Owen's shop on Knowsley Rd. when I was her Saturday girl in1965.
No ide what the new on is though :(
