Just to sign off this thread My Brother had a very good send off and I’m very proud of his children and grandchildren for what they organised.
The funeral was conducted by the Co Op from the Marian Square and they were excellent in everything they did. The service at Thornton was conducted by the Minister from Christ Church with lighthearted but heartfelt tributes from daughter and granddaughter.
After, we all gathered at St Monica’s Social Club for a superb buffet which to my delight contained hot and cold dishes including just for me ( they said) Scouse!
After lunch we were entertained by Asa Murphy who had worked with my niece so was happy to do a set comprising of my Brothers type of music, Elvis etc. I figured I’d seen Asa before and chatting to him we realised we had cruised together. He has a show on Radio Merseyside at the weekend and promised to give a mention to Harry and Family. Sunday 17.00pm.
A sad occasion but actually a lovely day.
ps I came back with £30 worth of bacon ribs in my cool box
