Thanks Ken, I needed that.
You, like Keith, will always be on my nice list. Even though you would RED card me, .... you IN MY OPINION are often times the best referee on the forum; you may not whistle ALL the fouls but you seem to see ALL of mine.

Another day, another injury setback for Daniel Sturridge. The Liverpool striker is set for a further spell on the sidelines after scans revealed the 26-year-old suffered a hamstring strain during Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United.
Sturridge appeared only as a 62nd-minute substitute at St James’ Park, with the manager Jürgen Klopp wanting to ease the injury-prone forward back towards full fitness. He had played for 59 minutes of the 6-1 win at Southampton in the Capital One Cup quarter-final four days earlier, giving a reminder of his outstanding quality in front of goal with two fine finishes, and started on the bench at St James’ Park as a precaution.
The striker reported a problem with the hamstring following Sunday’s brief appearance. The England international was sent for a scan on Tuesday and a strain was confirmed. Liverpool have not put a timescale on his absence but he is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. Given Sturridge’s track record of slow recoveries from injury, he could be absent over the demanding festive period too.

I am now 77 and have been a Liverpool supporter all my life, yes even in the old 2nd division, in the days when one could walk from the Kop to the Anfield Rd end. I do not mind losing, nobody can win all the time but to play a team in the relegation zone and not even muster a decent shot on goal it gives me the impression that there was something lacking.. I feel next season will be better when klopp can field a team of his own players and not those he inherited

Graham, The gap between the Premiership top and bottom clubs is very narrow these days and the 3 points for a win system can change things very quickly.
This season, no one is running away with it as all top clubs slip up. Just look at Chelsea's situation, Champions last season but now struggling or Leicester, sitting on top after surviving last season.
You are right about Klopp's inherited players , there are too many who do not deserve to wear the shirt. The problem is, who to bring in? The major stars don't want to play for other than a Champions League club and their preference is London. As fine as Liverpool might be as a city, it's not London and we don't have the funds the Manc teams have so our appeal is limited. History counts for little these days but even then our glory years were long gone before some of these "superstars" were born.
A couple of good results and we'll be in the top four reckoning again so a good run is needed. Here's hoping.
All the best

Graham, 77 yrs. ..... that's along time to be a Liverpudlian and yes during that time they did spend some time in the OLD 2nd Division.
I would like to ask you how you would have felt if when L,Pool was in the relegation zone, they had beaten a team that was at the top of their division ?
I'm sure you would have been elated. Newcastle beat L,Pool because they played their hearts out and L,Pool were off their game that day.
There's no point working yourself up into a cardiac arrest over a footie game. Sit back, relax and enjoy the game, after all it is ONLY a GAME that takes 90 minutes of your time and then you've got the rest of the week to rejoice if you win or to be miserable if you lose.
Hope it goes better for you next time.
Finnegan.

Eddy, if it’s true you’ve got to admire him for his honesty and bottle, and let’s hope he starts to enjoy playing his football once again.

Cheers Joe.

I like the look of Brad Smith. He's quick and makes good crosses. Also liked that he got stuck in. A decent prospect. Anyone know anything about Flanno, he seems to have been out a long time.
K
Eddy - heard similar from a mate in Boston. Personally wouldn't be surprised but have no problem if that is the case so long as he keeps scoring ( goals that is )

Costa has to be the worst centre forward in the Prem. If Hazard doesn't perform then Chelsea are a very ordinary side

Costa was the best last season, unplayable at times but take the thuggery out of him and he's very ordinary. If Mourinho hadn't lost the dressing room , I'm sure he has now with last nights comments all over the papers.

Watford 3 - Liverpool 0!
What a thumping from Watford - who thoroughly deserved their win.
Can, Clyne, Sakho, Coutinho, Firmino - how can a team win when five players don't turn up?
Sakho returned way off the pace and got up to his old tricks of trying to be tricky and giving the ball away on too many occasions.
Coutinho - disappointing.
Clyne - I have yet to be convinced. et - etc - etc.

Most of them mentioned above played really well this time against Leicester - even Sakho after a couple of early scares!
Congratulations on a great win against Leicester. I wonder whether they can do it next game and finally get some momentum going towards the top 4?
