RIP Peter. My condolences to his family.
Great player, as talented as they come. It was a privilege to watch him play.
Saw St John big Ron Yeats Thompson on the wing, there three of the greats.

Chelsea sign alleged LFC target Christian Pulisic for £58 million.
The American will remain at Borussia Dortmund until the end of the German season.
Ken
ps. I watched EFC v Leicester on record last night - shocker, how can such good players play so badly? K

Seems a fair shout Henry, although just a little biased. BUT...... I think the result may well be something nobody would ever have forecast.

City had the better tactics and wanted it more. Better pressing, beat us at our own game
As we’ve said before too much back and sideways passing and faffing around by the goalie.
Long way to go yet but the League just got more interesting

So we finally lose a game.
I think it was Ken who said in an earlier post for Liverpool to "stop faffing around at the back".
In case no-one saw that post,
"Stop Faffing around at the back"
Lovren, Allison, Alexander-Arnold and Henderson were all guilty tonight.
There has to be some team in the league that could use Lovren. He has a done a couple of things OK but he is too much of a liability.
Allson is falling into the habit of faffing around too much, passing it to the nearest player irrespective of whether there is an opponent nearby as well!
He is renowned as a great distributor of the ball - I wish he would get back into the earlier habit of getting the ball up the field.
Fair doos to City - they were better on the night!

Liverpool got what they deserved tonight NOTHING. Far too slow in getting the ball forward, too much sideways and backward passing, and players standing stationary waiting for the ball. I could not believe it when I saw that Henderson AND Milner had both been selected in mid field, there was never going to be any creativity.
Very disappointing performance.

It surprised me to see Milner start Bill, especially following his hamstring issue.
Things looked better when Fabinho came on and as usual Robertson was outstanding.
As to Mane, to quote Bernie R “ he couldn’t hit a horses ar*e with a banjo “
Ken
PS
Get fit soon Gomez to cover that right flank from CB , Lovren & VVD doesn’t work. K

As I said on Facebook, I was more worried when they had the ball than excited when we had it so can't complain about result.
A tale of two goalposts eh?
Would have bitten your hand off a month ago for a 4 point lead now so onwards and upwards.
As a great captain once said....we go again.

It will be interesting to see what Klopp does on Monday for the Cup match at Wolves.
Does he rest the first team and put a second string out ?
With the League still to fight for and Europe, personally I don’t think he’s to bothered about the FA Cup . I think his pragmatism will outweigh his interest in the Cup traditions.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Kompanys flying tackle, he should have been shown a red card. The difference between the two teams??? 11 centimetres. We need Gomez back. Fabhinio, Oxlade Chamberlain and Shaqiri in midfield.

Keita just needs more game time Ken, no doubt he has the ability he just lacks that half a yard of pace.

All Premier clubs have top players but only the top six have players who perform as a team. The technicalities and preparation for a game usually comes down to the skills of the manager/coach. We all know this.
City and LFC have top managers who get the best out of their teams and if there is a loose canon they have the cash and reputation to replace.
Last night some players did not perform to the best of their ability and unfortunately for LFC this was the case. Just a one game glitch which will quickly be forgotten.
City recently had a three game glitch which I doubt will recur. One of these teams will be champions.

Dom Solanke sold to Bournemouth for £19 million. At the same time Clyne has also gone there on loan.
Sturridge and Origi offer cover up front but limited options at fullback now .
No news on Moreno, we live in hope

Kop 1/9 1963/64 1964/65

Kop 2/- 1965/66 1966/67 1967/68 1968/69

From The Guardian
The article doesn't mention that Shankly signed him after Peter Thompson helped Preston put Liverpool out of the FA Cup in February 1962.
5th Round 2nd Replay at Old Trafford 0-1.The first two games were 0-0 at Anfield, 0-0 at Deepdale.
Shankly always signed,or tried to sign, players who did well against us.

Dan

Not bad, I didn't count on Camacho instead of Lallana. KInvicta wrote:Big changes for Wolves, I reckon
Mingers
Milner, Lovren, Jones, Moreno
Shaqiri, Fabinho, Keita, Lallana
Sturridge, Origi.
Subs a mix of First teamers and kids.
Good enough ?

Ken,I got some consolation for the result tonight. When I saw the team I had a bet on Jiminez to score first and Wolves to win 2-1 and so I won £148
( one of each)

I think he's quite happy to just collect his wages and not play.

I thought Sturridge had gone off at half time until he won the free kick that Shakiri was so unlucky with!
Impressed with the youngsters. Fabinho the only senior worth his salt.

Poor from Liverpool. Klopp disrespected the FA cup and the many fans that travelled down there.
