They certainly were, Bernie, bought my first eye level cooker, fifty years ago from gas showrooms in the Strand.
Came complete with own little pan storage drawer at the bottom - now there’s posh :D

No idea about the answer to this one but just laughing about eye level grills. Anyone over about 5ft 2 could have sued under the trade descriptions act.
