Bee was Joy Dudman from Burns street if so I remember her and her Mum Grace, a lovely family, did she have a sister Annette and a brother maybe Roger ? If it is the Joy I remember please tell her I said hello, my maiden name was Kearney and I lived just round the corner opp St.Joans.

Hi Sheelagh,
Yes, the very same, one and only Joy Dudman and yes you got the whole family's names right. You did miss out her dad Charlie who was also a lovely lovely man. Joy and I have been mates since we were 5 or 7; we can never agree exactly when
Of course I know where you lived on Peel Rd. I remember your big brother Eddy(?) sitting on the front step looking like "Kookie - lend me your comb" from 77 Sunset Strip. My mate and I had a big crush on him - we were about 8 at the time  I remember you as a 9 year old being far more sophisticated than us and telling us that he was your big bro.
Joy's been away celebrating her Ruby anniv but I'll be sure to pass on your greeting when I speak to her.
Cheers, Bee x

EEHHHHH Bee, me sophisticated  I was always the joker of the pack, never the glamour girl. Eddie was handsome though and me and big sis Kathleen were very proud of him. I don,t remember Mr.Dudman but when dad took mam to Scotland they rang me at the Dudman house every other night kind permission of Mr. and Mrs Dudman, a lovely family and I,m made up to hear about them. How come I don,t remember you ?

Apologies to Peter for going off topic

Sheelagh, you were a year older than us which automatically qualified you as sophis when you're only 8 years old. You did look much more grown up than me - I don't think I went through puberty until I was about 50! Looking at the pics on here I recognised you immediately.
Typical of Grace to let you use their phone; I'm only surprised that she didn't invite you to move in with them whilst your mum was away. Number 9 was home from home for many of the kids in Burns St. and many were better treated by Grace than by their own parents.
Perhaps you don't know me as I didn't go to Joy's house until I was about 11 - we were just mates in school until we went to grammar school from when on we were more like family in each others homes.
were you mates with Irene Brennan? She stopped hanging around with Joy and Annette so much when she started senior school.
OOps Sorry Peter - of thread
Cheers, Bee x
