My old mate John Potter created this FAB bit of artwork.

Cheers John :D

Nicked it from from his Facebook post and sharing it here. I'm sure John will be fine with sharing the artwork on our Bootle Forum. It's FAB.

Great photo from Jillian Patricia.Black bears are all starting to wake up now and search for food.Kalika's husband Chad has to have another person with him up in the logging area just to warn Chad there is a bear around. He (Chad) told me at the weekend the most they have seen in one day was10 and that one of them was nosing round where the logging crew eat their lunches.

That's a nice touch from the government, Matt, will you get one for your sixtieth and so on? Does anyone know if they do that in the UK?
You could send Sheila a card from these people.

Thanks Phil. Our youngest daughter was the person that set up the letter(s)We also got ones from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Janet Austin and John Horgan Premier of BC.Do not think I will make it to our 60th but if I do we will get one from Her Majesty(If she makes it).I have already set up an E card but thanks for the suggestion. The one from Julie Payette was by far the nicest and very well thought out and written.

Julie Payette, CC, CMM, COM, CQ, CD, astronaut, engineer, jet pilot, musician (born 20 October 1963 in Montréal, QC). Payette participated in two space flights to the International Space Station, STS-96 (1999) and STS-127 (2009), and served as the chief astronaut for the Canadian Space Agency from 2000 to 2007.

Thanks, Matt. That makes it even more special, if they have responded personally, rather than an automated card, triggered by a computer. I now understand the latin at the bottom, it's the motto of the RAF.

Keith - Love the photo of your Grandsons, they look really smart in their outfits!!! Bet they couldn't wait to get out of them though, if they are anything like my youngest grandson was at his Aunt's wedding.

Matt - Feel for you that you are unable to go out yourself for a card for Sheila - I was so touched when Janine found one for me from Lew that he had tucked away in the Garage before all the terrible events took place that year - I treasure it. Maybe you could order one from Hallmark on line but I'm sure she would treasure a hand written note even more from you as everything is so chaotic at the moment - now they are saying you should wear a cover over your mouth and nose of any kind if you plan on going out for groceries, medications, etc.

In response to a photo I posted of my eldest bro Norman taken with his pupils at Bootle Grammar School, I received the nicest compliment from an Alan Bunn. - I know my brother would have greatly appreciated same. Will forward same on to his family! x
Alan Bunn:
"Norman Whittington a great teacher."
I dearly miss his wisdom and patience - he certainly taught me a lot growing up.
