Bernie your photographs are superb. I love "Christmas Eve" sculpture at St Luke's, made even more poignant with the shell of the church behind it. Also the pictures from the top of the Anglican Cathedral. It's brilliant to see the layout of all the impressive buildings, I don't think you can appreciate them the same when just walking past, you miss most of them. Last year I abseiled down the Cathedral together with my sister-in- law, to raise money for Alder Hey, I remember being awed by the views, so much so that I forgot to be terrified. (We raised £1,143.00 between us) Thank you for posting them.
Ken little Harvey looks to be having a lovely dream, I love the way little ones can just nod off anywhere.
Shelagh it's years since I've been to Crosby beach and the park, it all looks so peaceful,
Patricia, your patio looks really inviting, even more so sitting with Janine and sharing lunch. You truly have a very special family, exactly what you deserve.

MIv - Kudos to YOU for a job well done indeed!!!
I have tried over the years to replicate some of my favorite memories of things growing up. My Dad loved his garden and he had the most beautiful Lilac Tree and Rose Arbor which I wanted to have also. The climate here is too warm in the summer for hardly any flower to survive but I have tried my best. Spring is the time here when they are at their best.

Lynne and Patricia, thank you both for your comments. It was an amazing day, and easy to put nerves aside when you see the heroic children at Alder Hey.
Patricia, your garden is beautiful. Your rose arbor is really lovely. We have the opposite problem, our back garden is north facing. Our flowers have to be grown in pots, and moved around when the sun manages to break through. All the sun is in the front, but the neighbours picketed when I tried to sunbathe in the middle of the lawn

That was so sweet of you Miv, thank you for your nice comments on
my Rose Arbor!! x
It was Janine's Birthday yesterday so we all went to a rather nice
restaurant in Town Centre. Janine was feeling like the "Bees
Knees!" in her new dress and we all had a lovely time. That is,
until Janine went to take off her shoes and found she had been
carrying an extra accessory around all evening!!! A
rather large leaf had somehow "Impaled" itself on the heel!!!
She said she hoped it hadn't "Outdone" her Dress!!!
.........and here it is...........

I didn't notice but then I am not one to look at another person's
feet!!
A lot of Birthdays April & May for me, a total of eight in all.
Today is the Twins, Morgan & Emmy's 9th Birthday - it
didn't seem all that long ago that I was announcing their
birth on the Bootle Forum!!!!

Shelagh, Janette's phone reckoned we walked 7.3 miles that day ashore and the ship is so big probably 2 more aboard.
We are deck 14 and boarding is on 5 Or 6,depending which port so we try to use the stairs where possible. Swimming and gyming, we might just break even. Fat Chance.!! Ken

Thank You Patricia, very kind words, Indeed
Most of the Bootle girls have a good sense of humour, think we needed it back then
Not taking themselves too seriously, and the ability to pick up on humour from the strangest of situations
Good to see you progressing with the DIY Patricia, not always easy, but small steps are a good start
(Let us know when you’ve completed the extension )

No route marches scheduled for tomorrow, Ken
Plodding around Rome in piddling down rain, not fun
A lovely evening, consisting of dinner and entertainment, should make up for it
P.S. won’t miss the odd iron man, Ken, still got a few more statues (heaps of rust) to be going on with

Thanks Shelagh,
We still managed lots of walking in Rome. The morning was hot and sunny, I left in shorts and T shirt but then a torrential down pour flooded everywhere.
A day at Sea then Cartagena in Spain.
Today in Gib (last call before Southampton)
Celebrating Janette's 70th with a room service champagne breakfast to start the day.

Sorry to hear about the rotten weather Ken, hope today’s weather is an improvement for you both
Remember to make lots of fuss over your girl today that means being on your best behaviour for a whole day
Enjoy your time in Gibraltar, and watch out for those cheeky monkeys
More celebrations when you get home, no doubt

Hi Ken,if you see one of those Barbary Apes wearing a naval hat with the cap ribbon HM Submarines that is the one that caused me to get 3 days punishment for being ashore and coming back on board out of full uniform The sign up on the Rock says "please watch any head coverings" NOT watch out for a sneaky creeping up from behind monkey.
Hope Janette had a great birthday in Gib and you spoiled her rotten by buying her a beautiful expensive duty free pressie
Matt

My eldest daughter, Gaynor & Family toured England & Scotland as well as
my youngest daughter, Jillian & her Family last year. When I saw a photo of my
Granddaughter Meghan, & her Cousin Sarah, taken in London I was really amazed
at how much they look alike, could be taken for Sisters!!!
Delighted that they now correspond with each other - do so want that
Family connection to continue!!!

Your girls look the image of each other Patricia. So nice that the family ties are obviously working their magic there. Two beauties like your twins.
