This was the same school that my bro attended and I thought it said something that he went back and taught Geography there for several years.

Thanks for pointing out your Grandmother - she's certainly looks great in the photo!!! Were you close to her growing up?

Here is the house I grew up in and the road (MelvilleI Rd) I played in - both still going strong according to my eldest, Gaynor & Family who visited same two years ago!! I was so happy to hear this! Also, the neighbours that lived there later on while Mum was still in her home are also still there. In fact ,you can see "George" next door, going up his pathway!!! :D

Thanks Joe, that brings back some happy memories.... 40 years later, in the early 60s I was a regular visitor to the Black Bull but never been in the pub. My school pal's dad Harry Moss was the manager, the door to their flat was around the left side.

Joe: What happened to the lovely enlargement of the house and road I lived and played in?? Can't see it anymore??

With regard to the one of the Black Bull that was my "Getting Off" stop to visit my girlfriend who lived around the corner from there. Believe it was "Andrews Circle" but so long ago cannot be sure!! She was always entering local "Beauty" competitions and I was sorta of her "Wingwoman" as we also worked together at Stacy & Company in Castle Street and were good friends. Talk about "Memories!" :D

Demolition of the old Kop.
Certainly! The demolition of the old Liverpool Kop holds a special place in the hearts of fans. On April 30, 1994, Kopites bid farewell to the iconic standing terrace at Anfield. Named after a battle during the Boer War, the Kop witnessed some of Liverpool Football Club’s finest moments. However, the disaster at Hillsborough in 1989 and the subsequent Taylor Report led to the end of standing terraces in England. The Kop, as we knew it, said goodbye on that spring afternoon in 1994. Before kick-off in the final game, Kop favorites were paraded onto the field, and Gerry Marsden led the stadium in a spine-tingling rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The Kop’s legacy lives on, even though its physical presence is no more
