More post war temporary housing.
I remember visiting my uncle, aunty & cousins who lived in one of these Prefabs around 1965 / 67? Billy, Ann, William & Malcolm Wain.
Looking at the picture I seem to recall it being on the left somewhere.
Born in Bootle 1960 lived on Bailey Drive then the old roan.

I'm not sure but i think the present site of these prefabs is now full of industrial units (the old nut factory etc.) just before the railway bridge on Hawthorne Road.
Correct me if I'm wrong !

I was tryin to figure out where this site was in relation to the residents' demo (see below).

RM suggests this became the site for the industrial units adjacent to St Wilfrid's and opposite Tesco.

I was ensure what the demo was about, but checking through Sefton's planning applications, the park next to St Robert Bellarmine

is going to be covered with an all-weather playing area.

Proposed site area shown below :

My parents rented a new prefab from 1947 at Belle Vale housing estate in Childwall Valley.
At that time there was Mam & Dad, me, and my 2 brothers, Ken and Alan. The prefabs had
2 bedrooms, so when we were youngsters, there was enough space in the back bedroom
for the 3 of us. However, in 1955, another brother was born, little Roy. My parents eventually
moved to a new council house in 1959 on the then new Childwall Valley Estate.
In the early days, we were told that Belle Vale prefab estate was the biggest prefab estate
in the United Kingdom, 1057 of them either side of Childwall Valley Road.
