Used to take the missus to the Stanley when we were courting. I always said to her. What you having, the milds good.
Bit of a cheapskate in them days. :wink:
Home of the "Edmonton Oilers" Future Stanley Cup Champions. :D
A long way from Duncan B.C. :wink:

Even the word gives me a warm glow. Breweries. Happy memories. :)

In one of my earlier incarnations I used to do the analysis for Cain's (Liverpool), Brain's (Cardiff) and Younger's (Alloa).

I used to love taking the brewery chemists' call, when they would ask "How many samples do you need?" :lol:

If only squillions were a real number. :(

Just realised it's infinitely more informative, and more fun, to track my life through the beer I was drinking rather than by jobs.

It would start;

1970/71 Salesian College Bootle. Double Diamond, graduating to brown mixed or Higson's Brown on the Kop.

I think that only gets you a runner-up place in the cheapskate stakes Ed.

Winner will always be;

"Get your coat on girl, I'm going for a pint."

" Oh, are we going out for a drink?"

"No. I'm turning the fire off when I leave."

(The great Caroline Aherne).

Saw this on Nostalgic Dave's twitter feed.

Harp Lager was huge in the 60's. Coupled with Watney's genius idea of Party 7 and 4 cans.

What more would you need?

From their Facebook page.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Neptune Brewery Tap last Saturday and ordered Sangfroid, Small IPA.
You helped us raise money for Sefton Women's and Children's Aid who support those who suffer from abuse.

And we're delighted to announce so far we have raised over £300 👏🏼

If you couldn't join us it will still be pouring this weekend.
You can also pick up the cans on Friday takeout ⏰4-6.30pm or on a Saturday and can make a donation by scanning the QR code on the can.

This Saturday we have food trader ‘Spicy Jack’ attending. He’ll be making some delicious Mexican dishes. He proved very popular on his last visit. So come hungry! 🌯🤤

The Tap Room is well worth a visit.

Here's some images of beermats that may be of interest. Just a few of the many I have in a box under the stairs.
Enjoy. Dave.
