Managed to get in there a few times before it closed.

Most memorably on a pub crawl starting at the Derby Arms and ending in the Jawbone - Christmas 1988, when I was at Samuel Banner on Sandhills.

Went in there a few times when I worked at Inspectorate on Derby Road, next door to Sabre Taxis which was handy.

A scene of bustling activity on Strand Road this morning.

The remains of the Elm House from the junction of Strand Road and Derby Road.

The fire station this morning. The only place you could shelter from the rain, when walking down to Derby Road.

Strand Road/Marsh Lane station platform, May 1941.

I think it may be the Talbot Street - side platform. You can see the station had four lines running through it at the time.
