I know Williams Toffee factory was in Waterworks Street around this time, but does anyone know of any other factories that were in being around 1918?
My grandmother was a factory worker 1918, living 40 Park Street, and I was wondering where she could have been working.
T.I.A. :)
Lived Linacre Lane, Trinity Road & Knowsley Road.

1911 census shows one of my ancestors living in Spring Grove Bootle which is close to Park Street as a bottler of mineral water. I understand there was a factory of this type in the area at that time.

Bootle Times August 5 1949.

First time I've seen this. Aerowata- bottled in Bootle and Rock Ferry.

There was a jam factory on Park Street itself called Hamilton's if I recall rightly.
Think it was by the TA barracks and also recall another, known locally as 'The Eggy' or egg works???

If I'm right I'm sure someone can find something more concrete

Wasn't there a Tannery somewhere around there? Well Lane maybe. K

There was definitely a foundry in Well Lane - Bruce & Hyslop.

The Aerowater was in Antonio Street off Hawthorne Rd, the boundary for Liverpool and Bootle ran across the street so one half was on Liverpool and the other side Bootle

Thanks for that Dennis.

Looking at the 1938 (published 1946) OS map, the closest water source for the Aerowata factory was Breeze Hill reservoir.

Realised I must have passed that site thousands of times on the 58 bus.
