Dan to me this is fantastic mate
What fantastic reading from your articles
Also, all this could have been lost, mate
Think about this we only had a ball to play with and training in the street with our hero's fathers brothers lads in the street but what times we had.
Bootle JOC well it gave us memories and it gave us standards to keep fit and to mix with others what times we had.
Regards Bobby

Great research Dan.
Welcome to Toffees and many thanks for the Blessed Sac photo.
Via PMs we found we were ex team mates but at the time of the picture I was playing for Courtaulds and the Warbreck. Toffees and I agreed that the names on the picture were not in sync with the photo, indeed some mentioned were not in the picture.
I agreed with Toffees to meet up with a few ex team mates next time I’m up but I was also saddened to hear of the loss of Ken Rodgers, my Best Man , a few years back which I didn’t know. Ken

With regard to the Business Houses League, one of the founder members was McFie's United.
The only McFie company I could find were the MacFie sugar refiners and treacle manufacturers.
MacFie family members were significant shareholders in Fairrie & Co.
From Love Lanes Lives.
Head office was variously given as Temple Street, Bachelor Street and Vernon Street.
Regards
Dan
