this pic is our lodge on the north bank of loch monzievard.and now for theboring history lesson....on this part of thelochside the battle of loch monzieverd was fought in 1003.the reigning king of the scots KENNETH THE THIRD and his son CERIC were killed.they were buried on IONA and a very large cairn was erected in their memory. 400 years later 40 members of the MURRAY CLAN were killed by the campells in the church there.the murrays were the local lairds at that time and the incident caused outrage in the high kirk.the ring leaders from the campbell clan were hung at sterling castle.graham.

Looks like you went with the same person that Sheila and I went stingray watching with Ken
Did he play the ukulele all the way back to the ship while one of guests steered the boat? We actually saw a Manta Ray
that had entered the lagoon at high tide and could not get back out and was waiting for the next super high tide.
Great place but VERY expensive.30$ for 2 local beers!.

Yes, I was the driver whilst he serenaded us Matt. We didn't linger for beer, got caught in a tropical storm on the way back.
When we got to land the place was half a metre under water. The next stop Tahiti was so hot and humid we found a bar which turned out to be a micro brewery which we never left. Half the ship joined us for a hell of a party. :D Ken

As Lew is not a great fan of the Beach, the only way we can get him
to participate is for him to go fully clothed being the only person
there dressed like that, which doesn't faze him one bit. To add a
little more interest for him, I bought him one Christmas a Metal Detector.
To date, the only thing of interest he found was someone's Cell Phone
whom we contacted and met to return. At least he made one person
happy with his find!!! :D

A reconstruction of the three ships that brought the first Pilgrims from Plymouth, England to the States
that one can tour in Jamestown , Virginia. How they survived is beyond belief. Here is a little history about same........

A History of Jamestown
The founding of Jamestown, America’s first permanent English colony, in Virginia in 1607 – 13 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth in Massachusetts – sparked a series of cultural encounters that helped shape the nation and the world. The government, language, customs, beliefs and aspirations of these early Virginians are all part of the United States’ heritage today.

The colony was sponsored by the Virginia Company of London, a group of investors who hoped to profit from the venture. Chartered in 1606 by King James I, the company also supported English national goals of counterbalancing the expansion of other European nations abroad, seeking a northwest passage to the Orient, and converting the Virginia Indians to the Anglican religion.
The Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery, carrying 105 passengers, one of whom died during the voyage, departed from England in December 1606 and reached the Virginia coast in late April 1607. The expedition was led by Captain Christopher Newport. On May 13, after two weeks of exploration, the ships arrived at a site on the James River selected for its deep water anchorage and good defensive position. The passengers came ashore the next day, and work began on the settlement. Initially, the colony was governed by a council of seven, with one member serving as president.
