the shot of the swans was taken at a little loch called SAINT SERFS WATER near CRIEFF,PERTHERSHIRE.it was a lovely spot and it looked like no one had been there for years, the path was very overgrown.it was hard work getting anywhere near the water.but with my bins i was able to see a lot nature at work.tonights effort is a squirrel,it stayed still so long i thought it was nailed onto the tree.graham..

This is a Pileated Woodpecker and the largest woodpecker in N.America.
See the damage it did to one of the trees on my youngest daughters property.
They had to cut that cedar tree down because an elk had originally rubbed the velvet
off its antlers against it and all kinds of insects and grubs got in and that was what the woodpecker was after.

Thanks Graham. Those birds grow up to 20 inches long.
By the time Linda got that tree cut down correctly I could have pushed it over
as there was only about 4 inches of sound wood left in the trunk.

Great night at the Epstein Theatre last night.

The Mersey Beatles show for the 50th anniversary of the release of Sgt Pepper. They played the whole album then, after the interval a fab greatest hits set! Very, very good.

with reference to my BULL STOREY,a quote from a review on trip advisor from jacimiri from manchester.THE ONLY REASON I HAVE MARKED THIS DOWN THIS YEAR IS THE BEWARE OF THE BULL WHERE WE ALWAYS WALK.I SAW SEVERAL WALKERS TERRIFIED AS THE HERD OF COWS AND CALVES CAME RUNNING DOWN TO THE LOCH.this was posted 5/5/17.so it looks as though iwas not the only one to have a scary time at LOCH MONZIEVARD this year.and yes i go back there in a shot.graham.

Matt - The photos of the colourful birds are lovely! :D
Bernie - That must have been one heck of a concert, would have
loved to have been there. They did make quite a fuss of the
anniversary here too!
Graham - That was quite a capture of the Osprey in the nest.
There is a Restaurant in the Outer Banks that we alway love to
go to, it is right on the water and looks out on various poles
with platforms in the water which apparently Osprey favor
to build their nests. :D

Great photos everyone.Beautiful male Cardinal Patricia.
Lucky you, we do not have them on the west coast :( Isn't it your State bird?)
Here you go Patricia, nice camel around Ein Gedi kibbutz on the Dead Sea.
Kalika was a little scared being so high off the ground.

Matt - Lovely photos of both Kalika and Sheila. They really seem
to be enjoying their "High" ride.
Now, how about an Elephant ride - here are my youngest
Grandchildren and daughter, Jillian, enjoying one!! :D
You are correct as to the Cardinal being the State bird! :D
