Looking at the map I think that the land the hotel was on was turned into a small housing estate. Anderson avenue and Grimley Avenue. I think my parents and other family members moved in a bout 1952
You are correct elmajo, my husband lived on that estate from 1952 until we got married in 1966, he lived on Baird Ave, I think most of the people who lived there in 1952 came from the Millars Bridge tenements when they were demolished.
Yes, my family came from Johnson Street and Mann Street, we lived in Grimley Avenue, Anderson Avenue and Rimrose Road flats. We were Calle Larkin.maybe your husband would have known my uncle Tommy.
