Who was awarded the George Cross for defusing the bomb which had dropped on the Gas Works in Garston and could have blown up the village and everyone in it for miles around. He did it alone. Famous name in Garston and much remembered!! T.S

T.S. I think his name was Harold Newgard, or something like that?

I remember reading about the achievement somewhere in a book about heroes.

Is it someone who loves rain? Because a pluviometer measures rain fall. I'm sad because I've got a weather station in the garden.

Tina,

Perth was named by (I think) Governor Stirling, after his home town in Scotland.

When I first came to the West I lived in Stirling Road which ran off Stirling Highway! - quite a popular name! :D
