An arl washing mangle

Postby marknjen » Sun Sep 14, 2014 4:36 pm

Hi guys, does anyone know anyone who has or is willing to sell a old washing mangle? Jens dad has been after one for ages for his garden,I've tried all the selling pages but the sellers are all too far away,I've even emailed by gone times to ask them, ( if you haven't been it's a must its fantastic see link below) hope someone can help, he's willing to pay £40-£50 for one if it's decent and just needs lick of paint! Thanks for reading

Mark

I have a couple of doll house size ones  seriously though I had a quick look at some Uk sites and they attract a very good price 150.00 200.00 mark but this one might be worth a shot I am sure it could be turned into a nice garden feature.

PS the seller has some other old stuff on offer including a vintage toilet cistern which could also make an interesting garden feature!!!

Looking on Google images most seem to be green trimmed with red. Good luck and post a photo when restored, be nice to see the finished article. :)

When we first moved to Wales about 30 years ago, I actually used one of them for three years, as we had a 'lean to' as a kitchen, no updated electric sockets (only two old fashioned ones in the whole cottage!) so my washing machine was stored in the barn until we had a new kitchen built!!! I could only mangle jeans upto the top as the metal button and zip got in the way!!! Love to have had the mangle as a garden ornament now!!!!
