Very nice find Mack. I remember a street party, we had moved to Ford but went back to Brookhill Rd for the party. :D Ken

Lovely thanks Mack. I don't remember a party, but we went to my Gran's house off East Lancs Road, because she had just got a TV :D

This was taken in Glynne Street (klondyke) Bootle. To my delight (found it last year ) when viewing it there where my very young parents and myself plus a new baby brother. It was lively also to try and remember all the old neighbours from my childhood

I so enjoyed that film, everyone looked well dressed, clean, houses superbly decorated, everyone having fun.

The Street looks amazing . I remember in our Street the neighbours all payed off the trellis that went round each door and we had window boxes of the same wood . We spent ages making crepe paper flowers to fasten on it . Mum collected every week off everyone for months before so we could have a feast . I was ten and had never known what it was like for sweets to be off the ration . All those cakes . Made by neighbours . I saw the Coronation on my Auntie Millie’s T.V. in Orrell . In the end it rained on the day . So my Dad went to an empty house next door but one and removed the kitchen window . He opened the door and and all the tables were carried in and we had the party in there . Honestly it was the best day ever for us kids . Thanks for the memories that s absolutely brilliant . We lived in Devon Street off Hawthorne Road and other than a small photo I have . I don’t think there is anything left to remember it by
