I Hi George hope you are keeping well.
Just catching up because I have not been on for a while.
Things ain't what they used to be George, old age has taken us to a new level.
But nobody dodges it, it is just hiding behind every corner and shows it's face eventually.
Take care mate, the Bootle air gave you a good start, keep going.
Best Wishes from another Olivia Street Buck.

Cobble stones and gas lit streets.
Faded apples, four a penny sweets.
Old ladies wrapped in big black shawls.
Sitting on the path till the rent man calls.
Men with hooks coming up from the dock.
Looking for their dinner but watching the clock.
Got to get back, for the afternoon shift.
No cars about so they don't get a lift.
Steps all scrubbed and viewed with pride.
Then you start on the other side.
Polish the brass till you make it gleam.
Now for the sills and the scratched paint cream.
Queuing up outside the chippy.
Got no coat and the air is nippy.
Smell the fishcakes and the pies.
Take some home for a nice surprise.
Lamp lighter comes, he's getting older.
Carrying the ladder on his shoulder
Feel sorry for the man, he looks worn out.
If he needs any help, he'll give us a shout
This was my Bootle of long ago.
Some are too young but others will know.
How we once lived and cared for each other.
War taught us "Treat Each Man as Your Brother."
